Shiny Toy Guns

Shiny Toy Guns - I started listening to them a few years ago and just really enjoy their music. It is definately not mainstream in any way, but I think what they do is very inventive. Also, I love how they go back and forth with the guy and girl vocals. Here are a few from their last 2 albums and happy Monday to all.

Chris Paul Overall

Chris Paul Overall - This one is a bit personal for me as Chris and I have known each other for many years and graduated from HS together. He is extremely talented and if you are ever in the Long Beach area, you should try and catch him live. I'm including a link to his solo album and hope you enjoy!

Susie Suh

Susie Suh - I got her debut album right after it came out years ago. I haven't heard her latest 3-song release, but I'm going to grab it today. Here are a couple of my favorites and I'm so happy to see some new stuff from her after such an outstanding 1st release.

Muse

Muse - So I am a huge Muse fan and their new album is great. They are definitely continuing to expand on their musical "open-ness"! I mean, a 3-part symphony??? Unexpected, but still musically great. Here are my 2 favorites, but this is a disk that you will not skip through. Although I actually really enjoy the 3-part symphony that ends the album, I'll let you experience that as you listen to it all the way through for the first time...

Paramore

Paramore - I just got their new album Brand New Eyes and it is absolutely great. I love lyrics that tell a story and have a message. Although they certainly have much heavier songs on the disc, I really love this track. Do yourself a favor and get this!

Take That

Take That - This is another album, The Circus, that came out last year, but that I also came across recently. They are a British band and have been together for a long while and although I don't know there other stuff at all, I really like this disk and highly recommend it as well. Here are a few songs I think represent the variety of what they did on this release. Hope you enjoy!

Greatest Day - definitely the most popular and played song from the album.

Safetysuit

Safetysuit - OK... This band's debut album came out last year, but didn't make it to my ears until the last month or so. I have to say that it is one of the best debuts I have come across in a long while. Honestly, the only song on the album that I ever click past is #7 - Down. I am doing a multiple video post today as their songs are so great and I hate to put just one out per day... This is a disk that is absolutely worth any full purchase price and I can't recommend it enough. I know you will enjoy what these guys have to offer and happy Thursday to all.

JJ Heller - 1st Post

JJ Heller - This is an interesting 1st post for me, but I'm trying to stay true to the idea of this blog (which is to share everything across all genres that I find and like). This is not normal listening for me, but when I came across this video yesterday and heard it, it really hit home on a couple of points. First, this woman has an amazing voice and such great control of it. I knew nothing about her or the type of music that she sang so I didn't see the Christian element until the end. Second, as a Christian, it meant something completely different to me the second time through. I hope you enjoy this first song and the start of our journey together...

Introduction

Well... I do this for myself nearly every day so I thought I would share it with anyone else who is interested. I am always on the look for new and great music. There are so many amazing and talented artists out there. Sadly, only a very small portion of that great music ever makes it to your ears. I'm trying to fix that for myself and would love for you to join me in the discovery.

You will find many genres on this blog. You will find mainstream artists and indie alike. You will hear new and old as I come across it.

So... with that, let's get started.
